<p>District Security Coordinator JobID: 506</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Support Services/District Security Coordinator</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/19/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District</p> <p>(High-Needs School)</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Opening for 2025-26 School Year</p> <p>Description: District Security Coordinator</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>The District Security Coordinator shall:</p> <ul> <li>Hold Bachelor's degree or equivalent and valid New Jersey driver's license with no serious infractions </li><li>Have prior experience in law enforcement </li><li>Have knowledge and understanding of security measures, crowd control, fire prevention, and security assessment procedures. </li><li>Have good moral character and integrity and demonstrate initiative and sound judgment. </li><li>Demonstrate strong written and oral communications skills </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to serve as a positive role model and work with young adults and school-aged children in a supportive and caring manner. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to function as a positive public relations representative when interacting with staff, administration, parents, and the community. </li><li>Have the ability to work flexible hours as required and assigned. </li><li>Meet all established requirements of any required psychological and physical examination (including a drug evaluation, hearing test, and color vision test), to be administered by a medical service selected by the District. The Board reserves the right to require a psychiatric assessment instead of a psychological assessment as a condition of employment and/or ability to carry a handgun as part of their service to the school district. </li><li>Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. </li><li>Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education </li></ul> <p>FIREARM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain an active identification card issued by the Superintendent of the State Police permitting the retired officer to carry a handgun in accordance with N.J.S.A. 2C:39-6(l)(4).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a personal handgun, with the cost and maintenance being the sole responsibility of District Security Coordinator, that complies with the following specifications:</p> </li><li> <p>Only a semi automatic, nine-millimeter or 40-caliber handgun may be used.</p> </li><li> <p>Proof must be provided that the handgun was used for the District Security Coordinator's semi-annual firearms qualification.</p> </li><li> <p>The firearm must be in excellent working order and free from any defects in operation or wear.</p> </li><li> <p>No modifications shall be made to the handgun's specifications set forth by the manufacturer.</p> </li><li> <p>Any type of commercially-available ammunition that meets the requirements of the Retired Law Enforcement Officer Program (RPO) may be used.</p> </li><li> <p>Carry a district-reimbursed Level III Retention Duty Holster or higher</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a firearm that is worn as open carry that is identified as part of a full security personnel uniform</p> </li><li> <p>Full time</p> </li></ul> <p>Location: District</p> <p>Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (depending on experience)</p> <p>Closing Date: Until position is filled</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply online</p> <p>EOE/AA</p>
