Description</p> <p>Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Prepares for and teaches Welding and Fabrication Technology courses and conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Welding and Fabrication Technology department.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teaches assigned theory and lab classes. Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab. Supervises students for both theory and technical project grades. </li><li>Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing welding and fabrication, to include instruction in shop safety. </li><li>Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken's safety standards. </li><li>Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment. </li><li>Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties. </li><li>Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc. </li><li>Participates in available training to keep current in Welding and Fabrication Technology. </li><li>Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Knowledge/Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>Five or more years of Welding & Fabrication experience with associates degree or higher. </li><li>Seven or more years of Welding & Fabrication experience with certificate. </li><li>Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred. </li><li>Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. </li><li>Ability to weld with SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW in all positions </li><li>Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment. </li><li>Computer literate in MS Office. </li><li>Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Position Welding and Fabrication Technology, Instructor Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Hiring Manager(s) Bruce Shelley Req Number EDU-25-00007 Open Date 5/9/2025 Location St. Louis</p>
