As a Management Services Organization (MSO), Spire provides the infrastructure for administrative operations that allows practices to operate at their highest level, so doctors can focus their efforts on what matters most - patient care. The Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 1,300 employees, 130 physicians, and 28 locations in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <p>Responsible for the successful clinical management and operation of Surgical Center. Provides functional direction to members of the clinical team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing available resources including surgical case management and perioperative patient care coordination.</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develops proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops appropriate admission and discharge procedures and assures that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the surgical area both operationally and fiscally during tour of duty.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate efficient staffing on a daily basis, based on schedule and procedural needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Researches and prepares cost reduction proposals and implements them as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates ongoing patient care and reports significant patient problems to appropriate team members.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with Administrator to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as resource and role model for staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans, evaluates, recommends and implements new initiatives when appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in interviews for perioperative personnel selection.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in evaluating clinical personnel performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor that necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to the clinical team.</p> </li><li> <p>Assures compliance with all SCOA policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to:</p> </li><li> <p>Controlled substances.</p> </li><li> <p>Infection control.</p> </li><li> <p>Patient confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>CPR, ACLS, PALS safety and risk management in collaboration with Safety Officer and Administrator.</p> </li><li> <p>Quality improvement and quality assurance.</p> </li><li> <p>Emergency codes and evacuation</p> </li><li> <p>DOH, Medicare, AAAHC and all other voluntary and regulatory requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, team leaders, and physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the development of patient education material.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports and promotes a positive image of SCOA when dealing with patients and others inside and outside the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with materials management as needed. Serves as back up for ordering and unpacking supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with coordinating emergency drills for the facility, per regulation requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides support with distributing DME products and maintaining applicable documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees annual employee compliance training.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with provider EMR/practice management system training.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the ordering and tracking process for narcotic medications.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides back up to administrative/front desk duties as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul>
