<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position serves as a key policy advisor within the Division of Budget and Strategic Initiatives (DBSI), reporting directly to the Division Administrator. The role leads and supports the development, coordination, and implementation of division and agency-wide strategic initiatives, programs, and innovation efforts. Working across divisions, bureaus, and regions, this position builds consensus, fosters partnerships, and advances priority projects aligned with department goals.</p> <p>The position acts as a liaison to the Secretary's Office, stakeholders, and external partners, providing research, policy analysis, and guidance on high-profile and complex issues. Responsibilities also include coordinating legislative and media responses, leading pilot projects and process improvements, and supporting policy development, budgeting, and strategic planning efforts to drive effective and efficient agency operations.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in schedule-range (81-02) with an annual salary of $93,600 - $111,093 plus excellent benefits. A 2-year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. WisDOT is not an E-verify employer.</p> <p>Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualified applicants will have experience in all the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience reviewing or formulating proposals for the state or federal budget, policy and legislation. </li><li>Experience conducting research and policy analysis for an organization. </li><li>Experience as a liaison between a diverse group of stakeholders including internal and external customers (customers may include division, bureau, agency, policy makers, elected officials, or public, etc.) </li></ul> <p>In addition, well qualified applicants will have experience in one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborating with technical subject matter experts to analyze and resolve issues. </li><li>Experience effectively communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience. </li><li>Experience leading groups and building effective teams. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
