<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Title: Head Coach, Tri-Town Hockey</p> <p>Location: Tri-Town Hockey Cooperative Program</p> <p>Reports To: Athletic Directors/School Administration</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Tri-Town Hockey Head Coach is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the cooperative high school hockey program. The head coach will promote a positive, competitive, and educational environment that supports student-athletes both on and off the ice. This individual must demonstrate strong leadership, knowledge of the sport, and a commitment to sportsmanship, player development, and program culture.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and supervise all team practices, games, and team activities </li><li>Develop and implement a program philosophy that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship </li><li>Foster a positive and inclusive team culture for all student-athletes </li><li>Monitor and support the academic, behavioral, and athletic progress of team members </li><li>Communicate effectively with players, families, athletic directors, school administration, and opposing programs </li><li>Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches and other program staff </li><li>Manage team equipment, uniforms, and program inventory </li><li>Coordinate scheduling needs, team logistics, and transportation in collaboration with athletic departments </li><li>Ensure compliance with CIAC, conference, school district, and cooperative team policies and regulations </li><li>Promote the safety and well-being of all student-athletes at all times </li><li>Attend required meetings, rules clinics, and professional development opportunities </li><li>Assist in program planning, offseason communication, and long-term development of the hockey program </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous coaching experience in hockey is preferred, with head coaching experience strongly preferred </li><li>Strong knowledge of ice hockey fundamentals, strategy, and player development </li><li>Demonstrated ability to build relationships with student-athletes and lead a multi-school cooperative program </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills </li><li>Commitment to educational athletics and the values of interscholastic sports </li><li>Must meet all district, CIAC, and state coaching certification requirements, including CPR/First Aid and concussion training </li></ul> <p>Preferred Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to create a disciplined, supportive, and competitive program culture </li><li>Strong communication skills with families and school communities </li><li>Commitment to sportsmanship, professionalism, and representing the program in a positive manner </li><li>Willingness to invest in the overall growth and stability of the Tri-Town Hockey program </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Seasonal stipend position in accordance with district/cooperative agreement </li><li>Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required certifications, background checks, and board approval where applicable </li></ul>
