<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p> <p>Primary Care Physicians within the Primary Care Service at the Salisbury VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) are required to be familiar with the concepts, tools, and technology within the field of Family Practice. The incumbent will serve as the Women's Health Medical Director (WHMD), responsible for clinical and performance improvement activities for female veterans receiving care within the Salisbury VAHCS. The incumbent should be recognized by peers for clinical competence in Women's Health Primary Care in an outpatient setting and as a clinical leader in the field of Women's Health.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Administrative:</p> <ul> <li>Professional oversight of all Designated Women's Health PCPs (DWHPCPs) in the SBYHCS to ensure proficiency and competency in providing comprehensive care to female Veterans. </li><li>Collaborates with all PACT disciplines to support PACT, including monitoring and improving PACT metrics, supporting new initiatives and improving HEDIS measures </li><li>Responsible for working with the quality team, the WVPM and primary care leadership to eliminate gender disparities in performance. </li><li>Responsible for meeting the performance improvement requirements of both the Joint Commission and the Department of Veterans Affairs </li><li>Participates in performance improvement projects leading to improved measurable outcomes for Veterans. </li><li>Participates in the Women's Health Committee, and others as designated by the Deputy ACOS or ACOS. </li><li>Active participation in joint leadership meetings at the site or at other forums as assigned by the Deputy ACOS or ACOS. </li><li>Active participation in regular rounding with PACT discipline supervisors and managers, addressing issues and concerns raised by staff in a timely and appropriate manner. </li><li>Regularly rounding at all sites of care within the SBYHCS to meet with DWHPCPs, Enrollment, and Primary Care Leadership </li><li>Utilizes workload statistics and other data to ensure optimum availability of staff to meet patient needs. </li><li>Ensures compliance with employee responsibility and code of conduct in accordance with Medical Center policies. </li><li>Maintains communication with phone calls to clinical services through scheduled meetings/telephone calls or site visits. </li><li>Address action Items, Congressional Request for Response, White House Hotline complaints, Issue Briefs, and patient complaint calls </li><li>Works closely with the Patient Advocate and customer service stakeholders to improve Patient Experience. </li><li>Participates in inspections and corrective actions (EOC Rounds, Security Inspections, TJC) as required. </li></ul> <p>Clinical:</p> <ul> <li>Directs and proctors the women's health clinical activities of the Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) providers in the primary care clinics. </li><li>Works collaboratively with the Women's Veteran Program Manager (WVPM) and other disciplines and service chiefs to assure quality medical care. </li><li>Promotes virtual care modalities for care delivery and ensures incorporation of such modalities into daily operations of Designated Women's Health Primary Care Providers (DWHPCPs). </li><li>Works cooperatively with the Salisbury VA Medical Center and other outpatient clinics of Salisbury VA Healthcare System. Coordinates care and transfer of care to their facilities when needed. </li><li>Participates in, plans and promotes educational programs for women's health care. </li></ul> <p>This list of job duties is not inclusive of all duties associated with this position.</p> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Contact James Grimm at James.Grimm@va.gov, the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)</p> <p>Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided</p> <p>Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting</p> <p>Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30p, M-F</p>
