<p>Who we are looking for</p> <p>State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) Portfolio Governance is seeking a AVP, Program and Project Management Enablement Lead to own and drive the enablement agenda for program and project management across the technology organization. This role focuses on strengthening delivery capability at scale by operationalizing standards, frameworks, skills pathways, and shared learning-ensuring consistent, high-quality execution and improved delivery outcomes across the portfolio. The role serves as Chair of the Project Management Community of Practice (CoP), leveraging the community as a primary mechanism to collaborate with leaders across the organization and drive adoption of enablement priorities. By strengthening enablement through structured leadership, community engagement, and continuous improvement, this role helps translate strategy into outcomes more consistently across the enterprise.</p> <p>What you will be responsible for</p> <ul> <li>Drive execution of a defined enablement strategy aligned to portfolio governance priorities and organizational delivery objectives. </li><li>Lead the CoP as a cross-organizational leadership forum to align priorities, collaborate on solutions, and mobilize shared ownership of enablement initiatives. </li><li>Enable consistent use of delivery principles, playbooks, and templates across teams in partnership with portfolio governance and delivery leaders. </li><li>Define role expectations, competency models, and learning pathways for program and project professionals to support readiness and growth. </li><li>Establish mechanisms to capture, maintain, and disseminate reusable delivery artifacts, case studies, and proven approaches. </li><li>Develop and maintain training, guidance, and self-service resources that support real-world execution needs. </li><li>Support adoption of standard delivery metrics (e.g., predictability, value realization, dependency health) and shared performance insights. </li><li>Enable successful rollout and sustained adoption of new standards, tools, and practices through targeted communication and engagement. </li><li>Track engagement, adoption, and practitioner feedback to continuously refine enablement priorities and approaches. </li></ul> <p>What we value</p> <ul> <li>An ability to work effectively across functions, portfolios, and reporting boundaries-building trust and alignment to drive shared enablement outcomes. </li><li>Demonstrated experience leading complex change efforts where standards, frameworks, and ways of working must be successfully adopted-not just defined. </li><li>A strong ability to advise, facilitate, and enable workflow and delivery practice improvements that measurably increase efficiency and effectiveness. </li><li>Comfort addressing urgent or ambiguous issues, navigating competing priorities, and driving progress to completion-even when stakeholder goals are not fully aligned. </li><li>Curiosity and courage to ask tough questions, challenge the status quo thoughtfully, and drive consensus in complex, matrixed environments. </li><li>A proven ability to deliver results through horizontal influence-mobilizing leaders and teams without direct control over resources or outcomes. </li><li>An ambitious and self-directed approach-identifying opportunities, advancing ideas, and taking initiative to strengthen delivery capability. </li><li>Comfort operating in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve and enablement approaches must continuously adjust to business needs. </li></ul> <p>Education and preferred qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline); advanced degree preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated experience leading program and project management enablement, capability building, or delivery excellence initiatives at an enterprise or portfolio scale. </li><li>Strong background in program and project delivery with hands-on experience translating standards and frameworks into practical, adopted ways of working. </li><li>Proven ability to lead through influence and collaboration in complex, matrixed organizations, including chairing or facilitating cross-organizational forums or communities. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$90,000 - $157,500 Annual</p> <p>The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
