Employer paid life, disability, EAP, and more. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) </li><li>18-years of age or above </li><li>Certificate from college or technical school preferred but not required. </li><li>Possess and maintain Oklahoma Department of Health EMT-Paramedic Certification. </li><li>Possess and maintain National Registry EMT-Paramedic Certification. </li><li>Possess and maintain current Oklahoma motor vehicle operator's license and be within company guidelines with no more than two (2) moving violations in the past three (3) years. </li><li>Possess and maintain all certifications that are required by the Medical Control Board and EMSA </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions of the Position</p> <ul> <li>Conduct self in an ethical, professional manner; project a positive self/company/system image. </li><li>Follows the directions of the Clinical Services/Field Operations Supervisors, System Status Controllers, Operations Manager, and Director of Operations. </li><li>Work with physicians, nurses, public safety agencies, the public, and other allied healthcare professionals as the need arises. </li><li>Understand and adhere to all documented clinical standards and clinical performance criteria as set by the Medical Director. </li><li>Adhere to all probationary recommendations, remedial training recommendations, and suggestions for improvement of patient care and job standards. </li><li>Achieve and maintain high levels of patient care and clinical performance by meeting continuing education requirements and by maintaining job performance skills through education and practice. </li><li>Follow medical care practices as documented in EMSA medical protocols and as mandated by the Medical Control Board. The scope of medical practice will be confined to medical practice as defined by the Oklahoma Department of Health, unless otherwise specified by directives or protocols from the Medical Director. </li><li>Responsible for overall care and safe transportation of patients assigned to the crew by the System Status Controller. Will not turn patient care over to a Team Member or others who are less credentialed for the respective type of patient care needed per protocol. </li><li>Complete all documentation that relates to patient care and billing information on appropriate forms, in approved format, and turn in documentation as policy dictates. </li><li>Responsible for safe transport of patient to and from ambulance. This includes lifting of patient to and from a backboard, stretcher, or equivalent, and maneuvering patients past any obstacles encountered while moving the patient to the ambulance. </li><li>When assigned as an Emergency Vehicle Operator, will be always responsible for and in control of the assigned ambulance and in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws that govern ambulance operation, and in accordance with approved company policy on safe and efficient ambulance operation. </li><li>Responsible for the care, use and appearance of assigned ambulance and equipment. Must be familiar with all equipment placement on unit and have a complete, accurate documented inventory of all equipment. </li><li>Report to assigned shift in a timely fashion as dictated by company policy. </li><li>Must be physically and mentally ready to respond to all calls in time periods as dictated by company policy. </li><li>Report any malfunctions and/or damage to any equipment or ambulances whether the crew was using or operating the equipment at the time of the damage or malfunction. A written report must also be submitted in accordance with company policy. </li><li>Submit a verbal and written report of any injuries sustained to self, co-workers, or patients to appropriate authority and submit to follow-up procedures as dictated by company policy. </li><li>Follow guidelines and standards as set forth by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and EMSA Infection Control policies and procedures. </li><li>Support, properly interpret, and implement any policies, protocols, standard operating procedures, philosophies, or other directives as set forth by EMSA or other regulatory agencies. </li><li>Adhere to EMSA's Vehicle Assignment and Use Policy. </li><li>Conforms to dress code and personal hygiene standards. </li><li>Ability to continue EMS education as required by Company policy. </li></ul> <p>Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates strong communication skills with EMS field team members, dispatch, management, allied emergency personnel, and all levels of hospital staff Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, law enforcement, first responders, fire department personnel, and the public, through formal presentations, informal interactions, educational initiatives, and public relations efforts. </li><li>Requires strong knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and usage, with written communication meeting the standards and approval of the Medical Director, Clinical Services Manager, and Director of Operations. </li><li>Demonstrates strong common-sense understanding to effectively follow instructions delivered in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to resolve problems involving multiple concrete variables in routine, standardized situations. </li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of other organizations. </li><li>The Team Member will have varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and remain composed in high-pressure situations. </li><li>Demonstrates compassion with a sincere dedication to patient needs and concerns. </li><li>Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. </li><li>Works independently, demonstrates sound judgment in emergency situations, and maintains effective working relationships with company staff, healthcare professionals, and the public. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Required to maintain physical condition to enable proper performance of assigned job functions as determined by company policy. </li><li>Required physical abilities include: </li><li>Able to lift in conjunction with the partner or assist in moving and/or balance up to 350 pounds. </li><li>Use required visual abilities, including near and far vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Use hands for handling objects, tools and controls, reaching, and communicating by speaking and hearing. </li><li>Required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift. </li><li>Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. </li><li>Operates EMS vehicles safely and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company protocols. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Exposed to extreme and fluctuating temperatures, including heat, cold, humidity, and wet conditions. </li><li>Frequently works in outside weather conditions. </li><li>Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat. </li><li>Works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. </li><li>This role operates in a high-stress, fast-paced environment requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. </li><li>Assist others who are operating the EMS vehicle in a manner that enables arriving at location in a safe and timely manner. </li></ul> <p>This job description is intended to provide a representative summary of the essential functions, major duties, and responsibilities to be performed by incumbents of this job.
