Performs safety inspections on any/all County equipment. </li><li>General repairs on automotive and heavy construction equipment to include the repair of gasoline and diesel engines, repair of electrical systems including lights, repair of hydraulic systems, and repair/adjustment to drive train and brake systems. </li><li>Perform diagnostic road tests. Travel to various locations for tire maintenance, repair work, drop-off and pick-up of vehicles, parts and/or delivery of fluids and equipment. </li><li>Makes repairs to snow and ice equipment </li><li>Inspects defective and malfunctioning equipment and performs diagnostic tests using diagnostic software and other equipment as required. </li><li>Performs service calls in the field. </li><li>Performs duties and training in both the light-duty and heavy-duty shops. </li><li>On-Call during snow season to support the operations of snow removal fleet and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. </li><li>Repairs and replaces tires on all equipment. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned as needed. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent </li><li>One year of automotive/diesel mechanical experience preferred. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be consider </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License upon hire. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. </li><li>The ability to possess a State of Colorado Class (A) Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement after hire.
