<p>A client with Kforce is seeking an Interoperability Engineer to join their team for a remote opportunity.</p> <p>Summary: The Interoperability Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions that enable seamless communication and data exchange between disparate software systems, applications, and platforms. This role focuses on creating robust and scalable integration frameworks, defining data standards, and ensuring compatibility across various technologies. The Interoperability Engineer will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand integration requirements, resolve compatibility issues, and establish reliable data flow.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using various technologies (APIs, message queues, ETL tools, middleware) </li><li>Define and enforce data exchange standards, protocols, and data models to ensure compatibility and consistency across systems </li><li>Analyze existing systems and identify opportunities for improved interoperability and data synchronization </li><li>Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features and systems are designed with interoperability in mind </li><li>Work with external partners and vendors to establish and maintain data exchange agreements and technical integrations </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, data discrepancies, and connectivity problems </li><li>Develop and maintain documentation for integration architectures, data mappings, and technical specifications </li><li>Evaluate and recommend new integration technologies and best practices </li><li>Ensure data security and compliance standards are met in all integration solutions* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field </li><li>Proven experience in designing and implementing system integrations </li><li>Strong understanding of various integration patterns (e.g., API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, batch processing) </li><li>Proficiency with API development and management (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and related tools </li><li>Experience with middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, TIBCO, Apache Camel) or message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) </li><li>Familiarity with data transformation and ETL tools </li><li>Solid understanding of data formats such as XML, JSON, and CSV </li><li>Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills </li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills </li></ul>
