<p>General Description:</p> <p>The Behavioral Support Staff helps coordinate functional assessments of behavior and behavior intervention plans that address campers' inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the campers become more successful. A Behavioral Interventionist is needed with knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals and groups through the application of positive behavior supports.</p> <p>Principle Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Position also requires pre-camp meetings, review of camper registrations and communications with families if necessary. Must be available 6/22/26 - 8/14/26, which includes training. </li><li>Provides leadership and direction, working to design, implement, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive behavior support program. </li><li>The Behavioral Support Staff works directly and aggressively with identified students to adopt behaviors that substantially increase positive behaviors. Under the supervision of the program coordinator and camp director, the Behavioral Support Staff will provide diversified strategies and activities specifically designed for targeted children throughout all our summer camps. </li><li>Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude to demonstrate the importance of customer service. </li><li>Keep accurate records on campers, and emergencies and behavior issues for all children for follow up and documentation when needed. </li><li>Provides written reports of accidents or incidents immediately to the Summer Camp Supervisor/Program Coordinator so they may follow up with appropriate action. </li><li>Attends and plans scheduled staff meetings. </li><li>Adherence to the employee manual to promote consistency in the staff. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Conditions and Equipment: Requires some heavy lifting, working outdoors, sneakers and/or safe footwear required at all times. Staff shirt must be worn on all days at camp.</p> <p>Qualifications/Specifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two (2) years' experience in which the teaching of "at risk" and/or "behaviorally challenged" children was an important responsibility for the position. </li><li>Knowledge of function-based intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies that focuses on reducing problem behavior and increasing more appropriate behavior. </li><li>Knowledge of techniques needed to successfully complete effective Functional Behavior Assessments. </li><li>Expert knowledge in research based instructional strategies and ability to implement them effectively. </li><li>Demonstrate ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving behaviors. </li><li>Ascribes to the philosophy that all children can succeed and demonstrates the commitment to do what is necessary to make this a reality. </li><li>Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D. </li><li>Must be 18 years or older. </li></ul> <p>AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER</p> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
