<p>Magna-Power Electronics, a Flemington, New Jersey based electronics manufacturer, is seeking a full-time summer Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the company's engineering and production staff. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Must be able to approach technical problems in a logical and scientific manner. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities is essential. Familiarity with basic shop tools and/or machine equipment, and an aptitude and understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles and documentation skills.</p> <p>Specific duties and skills include:</p> <ul> <li>Mechanical fabrication of prototype and fixture hardware </li><li>Designs and assembles jigs and prototype fixtures to support various manufacturing operations </li><li>Assist with designing metal and insulation components to be used in the company's wide range of products </li><li>Support manufacturing personnel with various production programs </li><li>Work with various vendors and suppliers on component investigations and resolution </li><li>Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university </li><li>Ability to generate detailed design drawings using AutoCAD, working with prototype engineers and machinists for fabrication needs </li><li>Version control, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks experience </li><li>Strong experience with metal fabrication </li><li>Excellent writing and speaking skills </li><li>Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment </li><li>Strong math and computer skills </li><li>Familiarity with robotic automation a plus </li></ul> <p>Preference will be given to those with some experience in the electronics industry.</p> <p>Magna-Power Electronics complies with all laws and regulations in the recruiting, hiring, training, and promoting of women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and veterans.
