The Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) at USF is one of nine entities reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs - Dean of Students within the Vice President for Students Success portfolio.

The CLCE intends to become content experts and community connectors in support of the USF leadership and civic engagement initiatives. The CLCE trains, educates, and develops USF community members to be effective, ethical, and positively engaged leaders among the global community. The CLCE envisions each USF student as an educated and empowered catalyst for positive social change.

Toward this aim, we are seeking colleagues who will mirror our positively restless, solution focused, collaborative mentality as we build human capacity informed by leadership theory and research. On a daily basis the CLCE staff operationalizes data driven, outcomes focused, civic engagement and leadership initiatives supported by assessment and informed by current leadership and civic engagement literature, including the Leadership Identity Development Model, the Active Citizens Continuum, UNSDGs, and related leadership theories and models.

The Student Development Coordinator is an entry-level professional within the CLCE who, under the supervision of the Associate Director, is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of civically-connected leadership training, education, and development initiatives that contribute to student success. The Student Development Coordinator position necessitates a detail-focused, student-centered, team-oriented individual who will support the CLCE as we elevate initiatives along, at least, one of three dimensions: global scope, audience capacity, or longitudinal time frame.

Operating from our mental framework, and in support of our leadership and civic engagement outcomes, new initiatives will satisfy outcome deficiencies; student interest; engage collaboratively with USF partners and the Tampa Bay community; align with internal partners; and explicitly connect to external barometers.
