<p>ESL Teacher</p> <p>Reports to: Principal(s), ESL Lead Teacher, and/or Director of Federal Programs</p> <p>Purpose: To serve English Learners (ELs) as they acquire academic and social English language proficiency in grades K-12. To provide a safe learning environment that supports the English language development and academic success of English Learners.</p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. </li><li>Act as a liaison between students, school staff, and family. </li><li>Administer state required assessments. </li><li>Schedule and deliver instruction that is aligned to needs of the students based on the LIEP matrix. </li><li>Maintain student data, records, and documentation for each student and update as needed. </li><li>Design and deliver ESL instruction based on the WIDA Standards. </li><li>Attend parent/teacher conferences of English Learners as needed. </li><li>Collaborate with regular education teachers to share instructional strategies for English Learners. </li><li>Design and deliver parent engagement activities at the school site(s). </li><li>Design and deliver professional development at the school site(s) that supports English Learners. </li><li>Maintain a high level of organizational skills. </li><li>Attend ESL staff meetings. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities. </li><li>Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Term of Employment: 10 months employment</p>
