<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Shoreline Adult Education/Shoreline Adult Education Staff</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/27/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>SAE - 185 East Main Street Branford, CT 06405</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>August 2026</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>VACANCY NOTICE</p> <p>2025 - 2026 School Year</p> <p>March 27, 2026</p> <p>Shoreline Adult Education</p> <p>ESOL Co-Manager (Mornings)</p> <p>Title: ESOL Morning Co-Manager</p> <p>Work Year: 10-month, Part Time</p> <p>Department: Shoreline Adult Education (SAE)</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Adult Education</p> <p>Location: Branford High School & Joel Elementary School (Clinton)</p> <p>Hourly Rate: $47.00</p> <p>Position Overview: This role is an integral part of the SAE Management Team, responsible for the oversight of all morning ESOL classes and staff.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Program Leadership & Strategy </li></ul> <p>Coordinate morning ESOL programming, including the development of semester schedules and the selection of instructional materials and digital resources.</p> <ul> <li>Grant Management & Compliance </li></ul> <p>Lead the annual writing of the federal PEP Family Literacy grant. Monitor program implementation to ensure all state and federal grant requirements are met through mid-year and year-end reporting.</p> <ul> <li>Staff Supervision & Development </li></ul> <p>Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of part-time morning teachers, aides and volunteers. Conduct observations and evaluations to support professional growth and facilitate quarterly staff meetings and professional development.</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum & Instructional Excellence </li></ul> <p>Ensure all coursework aligns with Connecticut State Department of Education (SDE) requirements, including College and Career Readiness and English Language Proficiency Standards.</p> <ul> <li>Data Oversight & Assessment </li></ul> <p>In collaboration with the Program Facilitator and ESOL Program Assistant, oversee student data collection (registration, attendance, assessment and outcomes) within the LACES database. Use knowledge of the CASAS Assessment System to inform classroom instruction and professional development.</p> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 5 years of ESOL teaching experience </li><li>Valid CT Teaching Certification with Endorsement #088 (English to Non-English Speaking Adults) or #111 (TESOL). 092 Administrator certification is a plus </li><li>Proficient in Google Workspace Applications, including Google Classroom </li><li>Proven ability to work with diverse populations and individuals with limited English proficiency </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>Approximately 12-15 hours per week </li><li>Monday and Wednesday: 8:30 AM 12:30 PM in Branford </li><li>Tuesday (or Thursday - TBD): 8:30 AM 12:30 PM in Branford </li><li>1-2 Saturday (November March): 9:30 AM 12:00 PM at Joel Elementary in Clinton </li><li>Occasional evening for staff meetings and professional development </li></ul> <p>Physical and Cognitive Demands:</p> <p>Work in this classification is performed in classroom and school environments with adult learners. The position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks, supervise staff, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and community members.
