<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Kitchen Lead</p> <p>Position Type: Support/Kitchen Lead</p> <p>Location: Academy of International Studies; South Windsor</p> <p>Position Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the Food Services Assistant Program Coordinator, we are seeking an experienced food services professional to serve as Kitchen Lead within the CREC Academy of International Studies Food Services Department, located in South Windsor, CT. The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for day to day operations at this location.</p> <p>Responsibilities include: Overseeing daily meal preparation, service and clean-up, including special events and field trips; following menus provided by Food Service Assistant Program Coordinator, paying close attention to state child nutrition regulations and upholding standards of ServSafe certification; supervising other kitchen staff; maintaining databases related to kitchen operations: number of meals served; collecting meal money; tracking kitchen waste; food and supply inventories, etc. and assisting with preparing and serving meals.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily breakfast and lunch meal preparation </li><li>Pays close attention to state child nutrition regulations and upholding the standards of SafeServ </li><li>Supervising and making up daily work schedules for kitchen staff </li><li>Assisting in meal preparation and serving </li><li>Maintaining databases related to kitchen operations, number of meals served, kitchen waste, food and supply inventories </li><li>Ordering supplies </li><li>Academic (school year) work schedule </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of high school diploma. At least 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen; school experience a plus. </li><li>Must have prior experience using set menus and recipes; inventory control and supervision of others. </li><li>Current CT ServSafe certification is required. </li></ul> <p>Equipment: Computer, kitchen appliances and other kitchen related equipment</p> <p>Travel Requirements: Travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic computer programs i.e. Word and Excel. Must have strong organizational skills.
