<p>Job Description:</p> <p>School Psychologist - Carmen Arace Intermediate and Middle Schools</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Bloomfield Public School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated School Psychologist at Carmen Arace Intermediate and Middle Schools to join our multidisciplinary team in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students.The ideal candidate will have strong assessment, consultation, and counseling skills and a commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning. </li><li>Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and support services. </li><li>Serve as a member of PPT (Planning and Placement Team) and 504 teams to determine eligibility and appropriate interventions. </li><li>Provide short-term individual and group counseling to students experiencing social-emotional or behavioral challenges. </li><li>Consult with teachers and administrators on classroom strategies and school-wide practices to support student learning and mental health. </li><li>Participate in crisis prevention and intervention efforts, including risk assessments and crisis response planning. </li><li>Support the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including IDEA and Section 504. </li><li>Uphold ethical standards and best practices as outlined by NASP and Connecticut State Department of Education regulations. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Master's degree, Sixth Year Certificate, or Doctorate in School Psychology from an accredited program. </li><li>Certification: Valid Connecticut State Department of Education certification as a School Psychologist (#070). </li><li>Experience: Prior experience in a public school setting preferred, but not required. </li><li>Strong knowledge of child development, learning differences, behavioral interventions, and culturally responsive practices. </li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <ul> <li>Per Bloomfield Education Association contract </li></ul> <p>EOE</p>
