<p>Description</p> <p>The Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting injection molding machines and associated equipment. This role ensures optimal machine performance, part quality, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Machine Setup & Operation</p> <ul> <li>Set up molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment for production runs. </li><li>Adjust machine parameters to maintain part quality and meet specifications. </li><li>Start up and shut down molding machines per standard operating procedures. </li></ul> <p>Troubleshooting & Maintenance</p> <ul> <li>Diagnose and resolve molding issues such as flash, short shots, or warping. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on molds and machines. </li><li>Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for complex repairs. </li></ul> <p>Quality Assurance</p> <ul> <li>Inspect molded parts for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards. </li><li>Maintain documentation for process control, lot traceability, and corrective actions. </li><li>Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues. </li></ul> <p>Process Optimization</p> <ul> <li>Monitor mold performance and suggest improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap. </li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts. </li></ul> <p>Safety & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Follow all safety protocols and ensure equipment is operated safely. </li><li>Comply with ISO-13485, FDA CFR/GMP, and other regulatory requirements. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <p>injection molding processing, robotics, mold setup, RJG certifications</p> <p>Top Skills Details</p> <p>injection molding processing, robotics, mold setup</p> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree in Plastics Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. </li><li>Minimum 2-3 years of experience in injection molding or mold setup. </li><li>Experience with hydraulic and electric injection molding machines. </li></ul> <p>Certifications (Preferred):</p> <ul> <li>RJG Master Molder I or II </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. </li><li>Familiarity with CNC machines and robotic automation. </li><li>Knowledge of plastic materials, mold design, and processing parameters. </li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. </li></ul> <p>Experience Level</p> <p>Intermediate Level</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
