Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow is the heart of our mission.</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>North Stonington Public Schools is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to serve as ESY Paraeducators for the 2025 Extended School Year program. This is a 4-week position providing instructional and behavioral support to students in preschool through grade 12. Assignments may include working with students with developmental, physical, sensory, and/or social-emotional disabilities, including those who are medically fragile.</p> <p>Core Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty with competence. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required </li></ul> <p>Language Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and short correspondence</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to write simple, clear communication</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable communicating in small groups and one-on-one with students, staff, and families</p> </li></ul> <p>Mathematical Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proficient in basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and proportions</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of algebra and geometry</p> </li></ul> <p>Reasoning Ability:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various formats</p> </li><li> <p>Able to manage standardized problem-solving situations</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support small group and individual instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teachers with daily classroom activities</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor students during non-academic times</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with student assessments and interventions</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by administration</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>This role may involve occasional crouching, kneeling, or working at floor level.
