The Pathways Program is a well-supported classroom using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The program is designed to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential. The students receive highly specialized instruction to each child with inclusion opportunities provided and supported as appropriate. The ABA Tutor position is an integral part of the program. This work is performed in the classroom under the direct supervision of a Master's level Head Teacher and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Training is provided and is on-going.</p> <p>Job Function/Responsibilities of the ABA Tutor include:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct discrete trails, implement behavior support, and treatment plans </li><li>Work collaboratively with a Special Educator and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy </li><li>Demonstrate flexibility in day to day assignments and student support needs </li><li>Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions </li><li>Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work </li><li>Work with students who demonstrate challenging behaviors and provide hands on support for activities of daily living such as toileting and self care in order to increase positive behaviors and reduce interfering behaviors through the use of reinforcement procedures. </li><li>Be responsive to the needs of students </li><li>Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions </li></ul> <p>Qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Four year college degree </li><li>Degree in education, special education, or psychology preferred </li><li>Experience with children with Autism is required </li><li>Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, respectful and have a strong desire to work with elementary age children </li><li>Familiarity and training with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply online</p> <p>We believe that our students deserve to learn from educators who reflect their backgrounds and life experiences, and we want our staff to reflect the wide range of student identities we seek to serve.
