Join our team and grow your career in a hospital where everyday excellence meets or exceeds expectations.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Plant Operations III Craft Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, structures, and systems throughout the healthcare facility. Responsibilities include light carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance work to ensure safe, functional, and compliant operations. The technician may also support environmental and fire safety systems, equipment installation, and emergency repairs as needed.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs facility machinery, equipment, and systems </li><li>Performs utility, structural, and surface repairs, including drywall, painting, doors, flooring, and cabinetry </li><li>Conducts preventive maintenance on HVAC, secondary air systems, and plumbing infrastructure </li><li>Assists with fire safety compliance, including inspections of risers, extinguishers, and alarms </li><li>Cleans and clears sewer and drainage systems using mechanical tools as needed </li><li>Operates equipment such as dump trucks, snow plows, farm tractors, and ladders safely </li><li>Maintains logs, completes documentation, and tracks materials for audits and reporting </li><li>Moves furniture, equipment, and materials across departments or storage </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of building systems, tools, materials, and safety regulations including OSHA standards </li><li>Working understanding of healthcare facilities maintenance codes and lockout/tagout procedures </li><li>Ability to read blueprints, interpret maintenance instructions, and follow procedures </li><li>Strong manual dexterity, coordination, and mechanical skills </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking under time constraints </li><li>Effective communication and teamwork in diverse environments </li><li>Reliable attendance and flexibility to respond to facility demands </li><li>Constant standing, walking, stooping, squatting, and climbing </li><li>Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 75 lbs; occasional lifting over 75 lbs </li><li>Manual handling of tools and materials with repetitive hand and arm movements </li><li>Occasional work in adverse weather conditions or near mechanical/electrical hazards </li><li>Visual acuity and auditory capability to assess systems and respond to alarms </li><li>Participates in department huddles, safety briefings, and Executive Patient Safety Rounds (EPSR) </li><li>Adheres to policies related to safety, infection control, and emergency response </li><li>Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and compliance with attendance requirements </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED (Required) </li><li>Certificate from a trade school in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, millwright, or maintenance technology (Preferred) </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid state-issued driver's license (Required) </li><li>Additional licensure or certification may be required per facility policy </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years of relevant experience in maintenance or facility operations (Required) </li></ul>
