Medical coders assist in the reimbursement of ambulance claims from healthcare insurance companies</p> </li><li> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li> <p></p> </li></ul> <p>Entering Patient Health Information into the Imagetrend Elite Modules</p> <p>Assigns appropriate ICD-10 codes based on the information documented in the patient care report</p> <p>Assign the appropriate level of ambulance based on the CAD report</p> <p>Assign appropriate charges for services supported by the patient care report</p> <p>Review documentation to determine medical necessity of the ambulance transport and enter appropriate billing narrative to each claim</p> <p>Ensure that all necessary documents are present before submitting a claim for reimbursement</p> <p>Communicate with insurance companies, facilities, and patients regarding claims and payments</p> <p>Ensure that each account is billed to the correct payer and billing schedule</p> <p>Maintain current knowledge of insurance billing regulations and payer rules</p> <p>Invoice and track payments for facilities, events, and self-pay accounts</p> <p>Assist with audits, policy updates, and process improvements</p> <p>Performing other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Unit Specific Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Associate's degree and 3-5 years' experience.
