<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Clinical Health Educator for University Surgeons Associates located in Knoxville, TN.</p> <p>General Summary: The Clinical Health Educator assists surgical bariatric, surgical prehabilitation and medical weight loss patients during their weight loss journey.</p> <p>Essential Job Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Create diet and exercise programs for those on track for bariatric surgery, surgical prehabilitation, and medical weight loss.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate and communicate with Mid-Level Providers and the Bariatric Dietitian</p> </li></ol> <p>to optimize patient weight loss outcomes.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Evaluate food intake diaries and collect appropriate data to give patient specific dietary recommendations and acknowledge achievements.</p> </li><li> <p>Create individualized cardiovascular and strength training regiments that are appropriate for</p> </li></ol> <p>medical weight loss and bariatric surgery patients.</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Assist patients in weight loss goal setting, lifestyle modification plans, and general healthy living education.</p> </li><li> <p>Have knowledge of and provide samples to patients of vitamins and food products in the clinics inventory.</p> </li><li> <p>Make calls to pre-operative, post-operative, and medical weight loss patients through telehealth visits.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach pre-operative and post-operative educational classes for bariatric patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with data collection for maintaining ASMBS accreditation</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate support groups</p> </li><li> <p>Operate standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Should be proficient in computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel</p> </li></ol> <p>Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, Critical Illness, and more!</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education: BS or MS in Kinesiology or Nutrition</p>
