<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>University Physicians' Association is looking for a full-time Medical Billing / Coding Representative for University Cancer Specialists located in Alcoa, TN.</p> <p>JOB TYPE:</p> <p>Full-time; Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm</p> <p>JOB DUTIES:</p> <p>This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis. It does not exclude other duties as assigned.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Verification of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.</p> </li><li> <p>Verification of CPT codes and correct coding with modifiers</p> </li><li> <p>Data entry; patient registration, insurance verification, charge posting.</p> </li><li> <p>Correctly applies copays to patients date of service out of pre-collect and or/ unapplied.</p> </li><li> <p>Verification and processing of claim scrubber reports for coding/billing guidelines, following billing and practice specific processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Verifies claims by reviewing documentation, authorizations, HCPCS codes and units.</p> </li><li> <p>Works in numerous computer systems</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.</p> </li></ol> <p>Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, more!</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING:</p> <p>Requires High School education or equivalency, medical billing courses or college preferred.</p> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Medical Billing office preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of computer programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate computers and basic office equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read, understand written and oral instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be well organized and detail oriented.</p> </li></ol> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.</p>
