<p>REPORTS TO: Director of Technology POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology (IT) Specialist provides essential technical support and expertise to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all technology systems within Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School. This role is critical to supporting instructional goals, administrative functions, and the overall technology infrastructure, serving students, faculty, and staff. The IT Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network functionality, managing user accounts, and supporting various educational technology tools. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provides first and second-tier technical support for all hardware (desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, projectors, interactive whiteboards, printers, copiers, etc.) and software applications used throughout the school. Diagnoses and resolves network connectivity issues. Responds to and resolves help desk tickets in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing issues based on impact. Assists users with account issues, password resets, and access permissions. Performs basic maintenance and repairs on technology equipment. System and Network Support: Assists in the maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure components (switches, access points, cabling). Manages and deploys user accounts, groups, and permissions within Google Workspace (G Suite for Education) and other school-specific platforms (e.g., PowerSchool SIS, Google Classroom, etc). Supports the deployment, configuration, and inventory of new technology equipment. Assists with software installation, updates, and patching across school devices. Assists with data backup and recovery procedures as directed. Collaboration & Communication: Works collaboratively with the Director of Technology, school administration, teachers, and other staff members to identify technology needs and solutions. Communicates technical information clearly and patiently to non-technical users. Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in educational technology. Adheres to all district policies and procedures, including those related to data privacy and security (e.g., FERPA, CIPA). Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology, Superintendent and/or their designee. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Professional and supportive customer service approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Must be authorized to work in the United States. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience preferred. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Information Technology Specialist does not supervise any staff at Bay Path. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time 12 month position. Work Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. School Vacation Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM. SALARY: $52,000-$57,000 commensurate with experience.
