<p>Apply</p> <p>Description</p> <p>UHS is a coeducational, college-preparatory independent day school serving 490 students in grades 9-12. Located in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood, the campus includes five academic buildings, athletic facilities, and a Head of School residence. Founded in 1975, UHS's mission is to provide a transformational educational experience that fosters a spirited pursuit of learning and a purpose larger than self.</p> <p>San Francisco University High School is looking for a Director of Alumni Relations and Giving to be part of a dynamic seven-person development team. The director is responsible for developing the strategy, programs, events, activities, and communications that deepen the school's relationship with alumni, engage alumni in the life of the school, support alumni philanthropy, and build on alumni's connections with one another. This position reports to the Director of Development.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Overseeing the strategic development, planning, and implementation of an annual alumni engagement program with the goal of increasing UHS alumni connection, involvement, and philanthropic support. </li><li>Motivating and organizing alumni volunteers to devote their time, talent, and philanthropy to benefit University High School by providing partnership, strategic direction, and support to the alumni community. </li><li>Planning and implementing ongoing alumni events, activities, and programs geared to engage alumni (and other past members of the school community, including faculty, trustees, and parents) locally, regionally, and nationally. Events include Alumni Weekend, Alumni Holiday Party, Runway Lecture, and other alumni engagement events. </li><li>Designing a strategy and plan for alumni annual giving and meeting Alumni Annual Fund participation and giving goals. </li><li>Identifying, cultivating, and nurturing philanthropic relationships with alumni; managing a portfolio of alumni, including cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding alumni for major gifts to the school. </li><li>Creating, managing, and implementing alumni communications, including alumni content for the annual printed magazine, alumni webpages, and regular electronic newsletters. </li><li>Acting as an active participant and voice with the Bay Area community of development officers, with an emphasis on alumni relations professionals. Act as a peer resource. </li><li>Some travel, as well as evening and weekend work required. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3+ years in alumni relations, fundraising, independent schools, marketing, or related fields. </li><li>Advanced computer skills; preferably with Raiser's Edge experience. </li><li>Bachelor's degree. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills. </li><li>Outstanding oral and written communications. </li><li>Demonstrated skill in planning and executing events. </li><li>Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to juggle long-range planning while prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>Experience engaging and motivating volunteer groups. </li><li>Experienced user of social media as a communications and engagement tool. </li><li>Travel in-state and possibly nationally several times a year for regional alumni events. </li><li>Deep appreciation for the mission of University High School and knowledge of independent schools. </li><li>Entrepreneurial and creative, with enthusiasm for building programs and bringing them to life </li><li>A team player who believes that working hard and having fun go hand-in-hand. </li><li>Ability to provide Livescan, SB848 and TB clearance </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume outlining their qualifications, experience, and interest in the position. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Selected candidates will be contacted for an initial screening, which may be conducted virtually. Finalists will be invited to an in-person interview and campus tour. References will be requested at a later stage in the process.</p> <p>Wages and Benefits</p> <p>This is a full time, exempt position with salary ranging from $130 - $160k, commensurate with experience. UHS welcomes applications from candidates with a wide range of experience.
