<p>Position Summary Actively manages the daily operations of the Compliance team within the Compliance & Ethics department. Location: East Region | Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital: 13695 U.S. Highway 1, Sebastian, FL 32958 Schedule: Hybrid; onsite 2 days per week <em>Must have experience in a healthcare/hospital setting to be considered</em> Responsibilities Functions as a resource for Orlando Health team members and physicians on healthcare compliance matters. Becomes intimately familiar with and functions as the corporate resource on applicable laws, regulations and policies and procedures as assigned (e.g. Stark, anti-kickback, vendor relationships, etc.). Conducts regulatory and other research as necessary for the Compliance team to carry out its function. Interacts with Orlando Health Legal Affairs on compliance matters as necessary. Assists the Compliance & Ethics department with contracting activities as necessary. Participates in the reporting of major compliance programs, activities and initiatives to the board of directors of Orlando Health, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital and any other entity as may be needed. Participates in systematic reviews of Orlando Health policies and procedures from a compliance perspective and recommends necessary changes to such policies and procedures. Responsible for the maintenance, development and revision of the administrative policies and procedures created and maintained by the Compliance & Ethics department. Ensures that the Director and other applicable team members are informed and updated on any changes in applicable law or regulation. Serves as the compliance representative in the performance of compliance and operational audits as needed to determine where changes could result in improved levels of compliance. Institutes and maintains an effective compliance education and communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of the Code of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures. Manages the writing and editing of the Code of Conduct, newsletters, articles, summary documents and collateral materials. Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans and disciplinary actions. Supervises and assists the Senior Compliance Coordinator and Compliance Analysts with compliance program objectives and projects in a collaborative manner. Identifies, develops and implements compliance program "best practice" protocols. Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers. Represents the Compliance & Ethics department on organizational project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizations. Establish and maintain an open and positive working relationship with all internal partners, external associates and trade associations. Ensures and maintains accuracy and confidentiality of data and information. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards. Works independently under general supervision with latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Able to perform responsibilities with a high level of professionalism, accuracy, tact and integrity. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Keeps abreast of Orlando Health policies and procedures, current developments in hospital compliance, and changes in local, state and federal laws as applicable. Self-disciplined with a high level of motivation Qualifications Education/Certification Bachelor's degree required. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred. Experience Five (5) years of full-time experience in compliance and/or legal activities, auditing, business analysis, or in a discipline requiring clinical and analytical skills. Experience in healthcare law or compliance is required. Professional certification (e.g. CHC, CHRC, CHPC, CCEP, CCEP-I) or a Healthcare Compliance Graduate Certificate may substitute for one year of required experience.</p> <p>Education/Certification Bachelor's degree required.
