Employees must be able to perform the position's essential functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs tasks related to prescription billing, including completing benefits investigations, completing prior authorizations, and locating prescription drug formularies. </li><li>Navigates medication cost/access barriers by completing patient assistance applications, utilizing drug coupons, and/or assisting with low-income subsidy and dual eligibility applications. </li><li>Receives refill requests and other prescription questions from patients/pharmacies and forward messages and/or pending orders to providers for verification/authorization. </li><li>Processes orders for continuous glucose monitors through durable medical equipment companies and submit to providers for verification/authorization. </li><li>Ensures patient insurance information is up to date in the electronic health record. </li><li>Completes medication adherence calls and/or other population health tasks for medication-related quality measures. </li><li>Remains compliant with State and Federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, clinical practice guidelines, and standard operating procedures. </li><li>Remains actively engaged with professional development and continued education. </li><li>Provides professional and collaborative service excellence to all patients and team members. </li><li>Communicates with prescribers and pharmacists about drug shortages, recalls, and discontinuations. </li><li>Gathers detailed medication history from patients and documents accordingly in an electronic health record with verification/authorization performed by provider and/or Clinical Pharmacist. </li><li>Performs controlled substance monitoring protocols (ensuring UDS, contracts, and pill counts are completed). </li><li>Prepares clinical monitoring information (i.e. labs, relevant patient history, etc.) for pharmacist review. </li><li>Performs other office assistant tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments, scanning, etc. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program. </li><li>The pharmacy technician must hold or be eligible for licensure by the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy (Licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire date) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>One-year related experience in retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or physician's office setting. </li><li>Obtain Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number SS01744P Is this position subject to a criminal background check?
