<p>Position Title: Outdoor Program Rental Technician</p> <p>OP Rental Technician will be primarily responsible for checking-out, checking-in, inspecting, cleaning and maintenance of outdoor equipment, and registration of participants for adventure programs. Candidates must have a strong interest in outdoor recreation, experience working with outdoor equipment, the ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, and great customer service.</p> <p>This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>General knowledge of outdoor equipment and its use.</p> <p>CPR/AED and Standard First Aid Certification is required for working at the OP. Newly hired employees can take a CPR certification course through the Department of Campus Recreation.</p> <p>Ability to lift 50 pounds</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Seeking applicants who can:</p> <p>Provide excellent customer service at all times.</p> <p>Maintain a professional and attentive presence.</p> <p>Equipment reservation, rental, inspection, and maintenance.</p> <p>Maintain current CPR and First-aid certifications.</p> <p>Attend mandatory monthly meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops.</p> <p>Assist customers with the loading and unloading of equipment to and from vehicles.</p> <p>Read, understand, and abide by all employee policies and procedures as stated in the Outdoor Program employee policy and procedures manual.</p> <p>Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of the Outdoor Program</p> <p>Register participants for adventure programs, clinics, and/or workshops.</p> <p>Provide customers with information about locations and suggestions for outdoor recreation.</p> <p>Provide general instructions on the use of outdoor equipment.</p> <p>Follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or emergency.</p> <p>Perform other duties as specified by the Outdoor Program Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and/or Rental Manager.</p> <p>Be knowledgeable of Campus Recreation programs and services so that you can be an ambassador of Campus Recreation.</p> <p>Preference will be given to those that have Federal Work Study status. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. , Expressing or exchanging ideas. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. , Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance., Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Physical Requirements of this position Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection). The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. , The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. , The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions.
