Applicants must indicate on the application whether they are applying for Playground Camp Program, PlayCamp at the Sue McCollum Community Center, or both.</p> <p>Do you enjoy working with children and making a positive impact in your community? The Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Affairs Department is seeking responsible, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our summer camp team. Camp Counselors help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for youth while supporting daily camp operations at our community center locations.</p> <p>As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will supervise campers, lead recreational and enrichment activities, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and ensure a safe, healthy environment with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with preparing, leading, and supervising daily camp activities including but not limited to sports, games, crafts, music, storytelling, swimming, and free-play activities. </li><li>Maintain attendance records and ensure camper accountability </li><li>Ensure compliance with all program policies, procedures, and practices </li><li>Administer first aid and complete accident reports as appropriate </li><li>Support site operations, including set up, clean up, and basic clerical duties </li><li>Provide leadership, guidance, and positive behavior management for campers </li><li>Additional responsibilities may include training or assisting Counselors-in-Training, supporting camp events, or assisting Center Supervisors, depending on assignment. </li></ul> <p>For the complete job specification, listing essential duties and desirable qualifications, go to Recreation Aide.</p> <p>Minimum Training & Experience</p> <p>Ability to work effectively with children and follow oral and written instructions.</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>Certification or licensing such as CPR/First Aid may be required for designated positions.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>Hiring rate will start at $14.00-$18.35 per hour depending on experience and duties assigned.</p> <p>Camp Counselor I $14.00 hourly</p> <p>Camp Counselor II $15.00 hourly</p> <p>Camp Counselor III $16.00 hourly</p> <p>Specialist I $14.00 hourly</p> <p>Specialist II $15.21 hourly</p> <p>Specialist III $16.35 hourly</p> <p>Playground Camp Assistant Coordinator $17.00 hourly</p> <p>Playground Camp Site Supervisor $18.35 hourly</p> <p>Driver's License Requirements</p> <p>Must possess a valid Class-E State driver's license at the time of appointment.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Positions are seasonal and part-time.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Visit Talgov.com/Employment click on the 'Apply Today' button, then navigate to 'My Job Applications' icon, and create an account.
