<p>Iteris is seeking an Associate Engineer to join a talented group of professionals to promote thriving communities by applying innovative engineering and technology solutions to solve complex issues in transportation. You will work, in partnership with our senior engineering staff, with various municipalities, including state, regional, and local agencies, to deliver various traffic and transportation engineering projects to make mobility safe, efficient, and sustainable for our communities. This opportunity is available in the Northern California geography of our Pacific Region and requires the applicant to work on-site in the Oakland office.</p> <p>What you will be doing:</p> <ul> <li>Performing transportation or traffic engineering work in the development of design plans and specifications, traffic operations, signal systems management and operations, reports, and budget estimates under the direction of senior engineering staff. As the ideal candidate develops, opportunities will be available to take on additional project management and business development responsibilities based on your career goals and objectives </li><li>We are looking for an early to mid-level engineer for our Oakland, CA office. The successful candidate will assist with a wide variety of challenging, but rewarding projects with our public agency clients in the SF Bay Area </li><li>This position will perform professional engineering work in design, operations, planning, and integration of various transportation improvement projects </li><li>The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communications skills working with company team members and external clients, experience in design (traffic signals, communications infrastructure, and related ITS devices), signal operations, and in developing and implementing signal timing and coordination projects </li><li>Other work responsibilities include technical analysis, preparation of spread sheets, graphics and report preparation for various engineering and planning projects </li><li>Local travel will be required for project-related tasks and client meetings </li></ul> <p>What you need to be successful in this role:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (four-year college) required in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field </li><li>Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering preferred </li><li>2-6 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic engineering, design, or related field </li><li>Engineers in Training (EIT) preferred </li><li>Proficiency with industry software tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, etc. </li><li>Prior experience with traffic signal systems and signal operations </li><li>Prior design experience preparing PS&E for traffic signals, communications, and ITS-related projects </li><li>Proficiency in computer programming languages (i.e., Python) </li></ul> <p>Iteris anticipates paying between $82,000 and $95,000 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.</p> <p>#LI-ONSITE</p>
