<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Massasoit is seeking to hire a pool of part-time academic counselors to support New Student Advising & Registration Sessions (STARS) during the college's peak enrollment periods (July, August, early September, and January).</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Advises students in course registration, adding, or withdrawing from courses during New Student Advising and Registration Sessions.</p> <p>Utilize advising tools such as Degree Works, Banner, Academic MAPS, and Navigate.</p> <p>Maintain general knowledge of Massasoit policy and procedures.</p> <p>Make appropriate on or off-campus referrals as needed. Attend semesterly Advising and Registration trainings, and other professional development meetings.</p> <p>THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026. APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION THEREAFTER.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field; </li><li>Knowledge of online database systems, including Banner, and Degree Works. </li><li>Knowledge of current trends in how academic advising and career exploration are related. </li><li>Prior experience in working with diverse or adult students needed. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational skills, and decision-making ability. </li><li>Must exhibit training, sensitivity and commitment to the needs of youth and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Position Status: Part-time non-benefited MCCC/MTA bargaining unit position</p> <p>Hours: Will vary: 2-10 hours per week during peak periods of the semester.
