Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm</p> <p>VP Area U of U Health - Academics Department 01620 - Chief Wellness Office Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $47,650.00 - $68,349.00 Close Date 06/24/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>The Osher Center for Integrative Health is seeking a passionate and innovative Health Educator to lead the design, development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of a coordinated Health Coaching program.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Under the direction of OCIH leadership, develops and implements coordinated approach to Health Coaching programs across multiple sites. </li><li>Delivers wellness services including health coaching, biometric screening, wellness presentations and programming directly to clients and patients. </li><li>Actively participates in research and scholarship opportunities and supports University faculty research, as necessary. </li><li>Evaluates program effectiveness. </li><li>Demonstrates technological savvy with respect to online tracking, data collection, reporting and presentations. </li><li>Serves as a professional representative of OCIH to both internal and external clients and patients </li><li>Provide health coaching and behavior change consultation to clients and patients in the clinical setting working with a clinical team for improved patient care. </li><li>Develops and helps the patient implement individualized plans for health behavior, including nutrition, physical activity, and sleep interventions. </li><li>Participates in departmental staff meetings and communicates patient care and other issues to management. </li><li>May mentor Wellness Coaching students during clinical placements or projects. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Candidate must have a BS in health promotion or related field, and four or more years of health education experience. Must also possess and maintain certification as a CHES, MCHES, or CPH. Ability to demonstrate working-level professional knowledge in the 7 Areas of Responsibilities for Health Education or 10 Essential Functions of Public Health.</p> <p>Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required.</p> <p>Training in a specific health area may be preferred.</p> <p>This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.</p> <p>Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Experience and proficiency with motivational interviewing (MI), program development, and team building </li><li>Experience doing 1-on-1 and group, evidence-based health coaching </li><li>2+ years' experience managing staff and responsibility for all aspects of a project or program </li><li>Proficiency in Whole Person Health approach to prevention and health promotion. </li><li>Proficiency in program evaluation including process, impact, and outcomes assessment. </li></ul> <p>Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
