<p>EDU 336 Social Studies Methods & Curriculum (3 credits).</p> <p>This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore the methods and content needed to plan and teach culturally responsive social studies units to all students (with and without disabilities).</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certified in Childhood Education or 7-12 Social Studies. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of critical issues in teaching social studies. </li></ul> <p>Job Specific Qualifications</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop/update the course syllabus in accordance with SOE standards. </li><li>Ordering in advance books and materials for students in the class to purchase on or before the first day of classes. </li><li>Respond to student queries via email and phone and in scheduled office hours. </li><li>Grading in a timely manner student assignments and examinations for the course. </li><li>Monitor student progress on portfolios and review rubrics. </li><li>Completing NCATE competency assessment reports (if required). </li><li>Turning in mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University standards. </li><li>Coordinating planning of common lessons and discussions of student performance with other instructors of Block II courses. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>Please attach a resume/CV and cover letter.</p>
