Join our committed team and help shape the future we envision.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Assistant Financial Counselor</p> <p>Position Highlights:</p> <ul> <li>The Assistant Financial Counselor is responsible for coordinating the patient flow throughout the Business Office and responsible for answering clinic calls from the main Business Office phone line. </li><li>This position will triage patient inquiries while maintaining front desk duties such as reviewing and scanning financial assistance applications, initiating estimates, itemized billing requests, address updates, in addition to responding to simple patient account inquiries. </li><li>The position will also provide coverage for the information desk by welcoming patients, guests, and staff. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Review incoming financial assistance applications and document what information is still needed according to the policy. </li><li>Process itemized billing requests </li><li>Initiate the request for estimate of service </li><li>Scans documents into financial system </li><li>Reviews accounts for financial clearance </li><li>Responsible for answering the main Business Office phone line. </li><li>Sorts and distributes Business Office mail </li><li>Answers basic patient account inquiries both in person and telephonically. </li><li>Triages incoming issues to the correct department for disposition </li><li>Provides information to patients regarding contracted insurance plans </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of federal poverty and basic Florida Medicaid guidelines. </li><li>Documents all actions taken on accounts according to policy. </li><li>Serves as back up coverage for the information desk by providing information and directions to patients and guests. </li><li>Provides information to patients regarding their scheduled appointments. </li></ul> <p>Education and Credentials:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED </li><li>Minimum one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting with an emphasis in physician/hospital collections, insurance verification, and/or financial counseling is required. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent Customer Service Skills </li><li>Proficiency in mathematical calculations and various analysis techniques. </li><li>Computer skills along with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. </li></ul> <p>Share:</p>
