<p>Position Title Visiting Head Coach Sailing Department Athletic Center -Group Pay Type Appointment Type (A) Temporary Full-Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Number of weeks Other (Benefits Ineligible) other - # of weeks 16 Benefits Eligible No Benefits Geographical Regional Qualifies for Relocation Reimbursement Work Schedule</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>General Scope of Duties</p> <p>Connecticut College, a member of NCAA Division III, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), ICSA, and NEISA, is conducting a search for an experienced sailing coach to lead its intercollegiate Women's and Co-ed Sailing programs for the Fall 2025 semester. This is a visiting head coach position to cover a leave of absence, with the possibility of extension. Compensation includes a stipend for the fall semester.</p> <p>Located on the beautiful Thames River in New London, CT, the College offers an inspiring environment for both student-athletes and staff. Our sailing venue, the Kohn Waterfront, was completed in 2023 and features a state-of-the-art facility right on our campus.</p> <p>General Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement daily practice plans, conditioning, and skill development for both the Women's and Co-ed Sailing teams. </li><li>Oversee roster management, team logistics, and daily operations. </li><li>Manage the competition schedule, make regatta decisions, and report results. </li><li>Assist with recruiting in collaboration with the Office of Admission. </li><li>Ensure compliance with NCAA, NESCAC, ICSA, and institutional policies. </li><li>Plan and supervise team travel with approval from the Director of Athletics. Must be able to drive 7- and 12-passenger vans. </li><li>Support the holistic development, well-being, and academic success of student-athletes. </li><li>Weekend availability is required throughout the Fall 2025 season. </li></ul> <p>Education and Skills</p> <p>Experienced Sailing Coach with a minimum of one year of experience</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Driving Required Yes Salary Range $30,000 Note</p> <p>Connecticut College is committed to fair and competitive compensation.
