<p>The Instrumentation and Control Division is a growing team dedicated to supporting Water Treatment, Water Recovery, Water Resources, and Water Collection and Distribution divisions to ensure their equipment and systems operate efficiently. By joining the Instrumentation and Controls Team, you'll contribute to building reliable systems that enhance the quality of services provided to our community. This role is an opportunity to work collaboratively in a team focused on serving and supporting our customers.</p> <p>The Position: The I&C Technician oversees the instrumentation and controls equipment and systems as well as provides technical leadership and support to operations of the City's collections, distribution, reuse, water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role is responsible for control system programming, SCADA/DCS software integrity, and leadership in maintenance efforts. Project planning, troubleshooting electrical circuits and network systems, and managing SCADA nodes and HMIs are central, reflecting a focus on innovation and efficiency for seamless operations.</p> <p>The Ideal Candidate: Preferred candidates will possess experience in industrial automation or instrumentation and control systems, particularly in applications relevant to Water/Wastewater treatment, collection and distribution, or the Oil and Gas industry. Candidates should possess the ability to update and manage PLC programming, SCADA programming, maintain databases, maintain communication hardware and Operational Technology (OT) networks. In addition, candidates should also possess the ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Loop Diagrams, and Wiring Diagrams, enabling them to assist in leading maintenance efforts, and troubleshoot a range of equipment and systems. If this resonates with you, we'd love to have you on our team.</p> <p>Total Compensation Package</p> <p>Hiring Range: $42.96-$54.33/hour</p> <p>Free Recreation Center Pass (Gym & Pool)</p> <p>14 days vacation + 10 sick days + 12 holidays paid per year</p> <p>Medical, dental, & vision insurance</p> <p>6% employer retirement match</p> <p>Wellness discount on insurance premiums available</p> <p>No travel required - all jobs within City of Broomfield</p> <p>Paid training and certification opportunities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists in ensuring proper operation of the instrumentation and control operation, maintenance, repairs, and/or modifications of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment for the water treatment plant, water recovery plant, water booster stations, wastewater collection lift stations and wastewater reclamation facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs routine preventative maintenance and testing on electrical aspects of motors, motor control centers, drives and other electrical equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Designs and implements PLC programs, HMI screens, trending, reporting and interfaces from new systems into existing controls/ SCADA systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Updates, maintains and completes backup of all SCADA related software programs and machines, including; remote Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), local HMI/SCADA workstations and servers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Dialer system, Historical databases, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs and may lead lower-level staff and contractors in the maintenance, repair, calibrations and troubleshooting of all equipment, variable frequency drives, MCCs, software, SCADA, network, remote communication systems and process control systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates with supervisors and/or coworkers to discuss system operations and works with the various teams to ensure continuity of instrumentation and control operation assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in project planning, ordering of supplies, scheduling repairs </p> </li><li> <p>Directs completion of assigned work programs for the water treatment, water recovery, utility divisions. </p> </li><li> <p>Manages after hour issues for SCADA, controls, maintenance and communication issues including; water and wastewater treatment processes, water recovery plant, pump station operations, lift Station operations, SCADA/communication network, power failures and other like problems and discusses potential issues with customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizings P&IDs, Loop Diagrams, and Wiring diagrams, develops, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots and repairs electrical circuits and network communication systems. </p> </li><li> <p>Researches, modifies, and writes logic for programmable logic controllers and associated control software/programs. </p> </li><li> <p>Performs SCADA node and HMI programming modifications, backups, historical data preservation, and hardware and software upgrades.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer information systems, electronic engineering or closely related field - preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>4 years experience required in instrumentation and controls, programmable logic controllers, motor control centers, PLC programming, VFD's soft start with knowledge of a working SCADA system.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Rockwell Automation and Ignition SCADA software - preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience. </p> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record for continued employment.
