Staff will creating a welcoming space for free play, for children and guardians.</p> <p>This is a perfect opportunity for someone who loves working with families, thrives in a dynamic environment, and values the importance of play in early childhood development.</p> <p>This is a part-time position that supports a program running once a week for one hour from September through May each year. While the commitment is limited, the role is essential in ensuring the success and smooth operation of the program. You'll play a key role in creating a positive experience for children and their families during this short but impactful session. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexible, part-time work with a meaningful impact.</p> <p>SUPERVISION</p> <ul> <li>Position reports to the Recreation Programs Supervisor in charge of the assigned program. May report to a Recreations Assistant or Instructor of the assigned program in the absence of the Recreation Programs Supervisor. </li><li>The Leisure Programs Operations Assistant does not exercise any supervision over other positions. </li></ul> <p>EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>The following functions & duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address City needs and changing business practices.</p> <p>Perform equipment/facility set up, as well as post activity clean up.</p> <p>Coordinate/lead recreation activities.</p> <p>Interact with patrons and staff.</p> <p>Perform other related job duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Operations, services, and activities of a recreation program. </li><li>Rules, practices, techniques, and equipment used in specialized recreation programs/activities. </li><li>English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. </li><li>Basic word processing methods, techniques, and programs. </li><li>Basic mathematical principles. </li><li>Principles and practices used in dealing with the public. </li><li>Safe driving principles and practices. </li></ul> <p>Skill to:</p> <ul> <li>Operate modern office equipment including computer equipment and software. </li><li>Operate a motor vehicle safely. </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Learn equipment/facility set up activities and appropriate recreations activities. </li><li>Properly maintain assigned areas. </li><li>Follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Perform assigned tasks properly and efficiently. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. </li><li>Provide own transportation to and from work site. </li><li>Troubleshoot and operate electrical equipment. </li><li>Handle crisis situations and work under outside pressure. </li><li>Communicate on a daily basis by responding appropriately to questions or complaints, and enforce rules. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education, Training & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of education, training and experience that would provide necessary public contact skills. </li></ul> <p>Age Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 15 years of age or older. </li></ul> <p>License or Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Wyoming driver's license. </li><li>Possession of, or the ability to obtain, First Aid and CPR certifications. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMAND</p> <p>Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:</p> <p>Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs; work with arms extended at shoulder height up to 20 lbs; lift or carry up to 50 lbs; and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lbs) on a regular basis; exposure to hot, cold, and outdoors.</p> <p>Applicants who are offered employment are required to pass a comprehensive background investigation, job-related physical exam,d rug screening test and motor vehicle record check.</p> <p>The City of Green River is an EEO/ADA employer and a smoke-free workplace per City ordinance.</p> <p>Part-time & Seasonal positions are not eligible for City-sponsored benefit plans.</p>
