As well as installing and repairing chemical, paper, and soap dispensers.</p> <p>The ideal candidate can follow oral and written directions; demonstrates effective in-person and written communication skills; experience using an electronic work order system; and can recognize problems and determine proper repair solutions and corrective courses of action.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have an understanding of shop safety procedures and PPE use; knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; familiarity with battery powered systems (AGM, gel, lithium-ion) and battery charging maintenance.</p> <p>As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed "essential" and must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons. </p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and repair motorized equipment </li><li>Test equipment </li><li>Train custodial staff on proper use of equipment </li><li>Report equipment damages </li><li>Assist in the oversight of equipment preventative maintenance performed by third party vendor </li><li>Diagnose multimeters and other testing tools </li><li>Install, repair, replace and chemical, paper, and soap dispensers </li><li>Repair related plumbing valves as needed </li><li>Purchase supplies and parts for jobs </li><li>Maintain inventory of frequently used parts for equipment and building dispensers </li><li>Report and respond to emergency water damage calls for custodial assistance </li><li>Perform minor to moderate graffiti removal </li><li>Safely store, handle and dispose of hazardous materials </li><li>Assist with snow removal efforts including salting entryways and operating snow blower equipment </li><li>Perform related duties as assigned </li><li>Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 OR </li><li>Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades OR </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant the required knowledge, skills, and abilities </li><li>Ability to lift 80lbs </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices used in at least two of the building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions in the trades involved</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to care for and use the tools and equipment utilized in the trades involved</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow oral and written instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift and move heavy objects and to work under adverse weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Experience maintaining cleaning equipment such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Floor Scrubbers and sweepers</p> </li><li> <p>Carpet extractors, vacuums, and burnishers</p> </li><li> <p>Pressure washers and steam cleaners</p> </li><li> <p>Experience using electronic work order systems</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel</p> </li><li> <p>Customer service experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Candidates must apply online at https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/wcupa.
