<p>Administrative Assistant - Construction Management</p> <p>Part-Time position - Posted 4/30/2025</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Position is part time, with primary duties August-May. Responsible for providing operating support to the faculty, students, and staff in the Construction Management department as directed. Includes organization, effective communication, and multitasking; is strongly detail-oriented and a team player.</p> <p>Role qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong ability to create goodwill with students, staff, faculty, and administration; servant leader. </li><li>Flexibility and effectiveness as a team member; professionalism in work and conduct. </li><li>Ability to take initiative and make responsible, independent decisions when necessary. </li><li>Ability to set proper priorities and work on multiple tasks; detail and process oriented. </li><li>Self-starter, self-learner, able to access resources </li><li>Sets objectives and accomplishes them without need for frequent follow-up. </li><li>Commitment to the Articles of Faith, Mission, and Objectives of the University; role model for students by demonstrating an active Christian faith in personal example and in work-related responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Represents department in contact with on- and off-campus individuals, offices, and organizations, including students, administration, prospective students, alumni, employers, and others. </li><li>Provides general clerical support for department, including part-time faculty. </li><li>Organize two on-campus employer events per year. </li><li>Requisitions materials and supplies. </li><li>Prepares documents (letters, memos, reports, syllabi) and performs routine tasks (copying, messages, etc). </li><li>Prepares and updates official documents and reports as required. </li><li>Sets objectives and accomplishes them without need for frequent follow-up. </li><li>Provides general receptionist duties (answering phones, directing messages, greeting/directing guests) for the department. </li><li>Supports students (as directed by faculty) in academic advising and other academic issues. </li><li>Records minutes of department faculty meetings and maintains minutes book and other essential documents. </li><li>Oversees the general operation of the department's office and administrative services (i.e., handles building and equipment issues, submits maintenance requests, prepares documents and reports as needed, etc.) </li><li>Manages the administration, documentation, and closure of student internships. </li><li>Prepares documents in support of curriculum and Catalog changes. </li><li>Assists with special events and activities for the College, faculty, and classes. </li><li>Coordinates department work study program and provides direction to undergraduate work study students. </li></ul> <p>Essential skills and experience</p> <ul> <li>Skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Strong project management and process skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Three or more year's clerical work and supervising or managing office settings. </li><li>Experience with Blackboard Ultra. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical demands and work environment</p> <ul> <li>Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
