We believe that education needs to take a leadership role in improving society by enhancing activities/programs that help develop well-rounded students who can cope with everyday pressures. We are seeking a Title I Teacher at Harrison Elementary School for the 2025/2026 school year and beyond.</p> <p>Job Summary: The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of kindergarten through third grade reading curriculum and interventions. This candidate has awareness of the Title 1 program, is comfortable and proficient at analyzing student testing and intervention data along with strong communication skills to work with teachers, parents, students and administration.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide small group instruction to multiple grade levels. </li><li>Coordinate the building Title 1 Program. </li><li>Coordinate RTI aides and tutors. </li><li>Ability to administer and analyze early literacy assessments. </li><li>Provide an ongoing system of performance evaluation based upon formal and informal assessment techniques and data collection. </li><li>Provide training in appropriate modes of communication which will facilitate a student's functioning in the school and home setting. </li><li>Provide ongoing communication with parents in addition to periodic reports based on school calendar and written form and conferencing in conjunction with professionals involved in the student's education. </li><li>Adhere to and be knowledgeable of all provisions outlined in federal, state, and local guidelines for evaluation, identification, placement, and educational programming for special education students. </li><li>Develop individualized student schedules containing each day's major activities. </li><li>Work as an integral team member with related services specialists, professionals from outside agencies, and parents in implementing a student's IEP. </li><li>Work cooperatively with fellow special education teachers in developing comprehensive programs for students. </li><li>Responsible for building Title 1 reports, surveys and building professional development. </li><li>Work closely with District Title 1 Coordinator. </li><li>Serve on district level committees; organize and attend evening events specifically related to meeting Title 1 federal compliance. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. </li><li>Knowledge of kindergarten through third grade curriculum (Common Core) and concepts. </li><li>Knowledge of Ohio regulations regarding dyslexia law. </li><li>Knowledge of research based intervention tools and materials. </li><li>Experience in best practices related to Science of Reading. </li><li>Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate work. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. </li><li>Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. </li><li>Reading Endorsement (K-12) is preferred. </li><li>Working knowledge of NWEA MAP and AIMSWEB a plus. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certification/License - Educator licensure is preferred (K-3 plus reading endorsement), Completion of Science of Reading training; must be Orton Gillingham trained.</p> </li><li> <p>K-12 Reading Endorsement on Teacher's License.</p> </li><li> <p>In lieu of this, candidates may have one of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>A master's degree with a major in reading or literacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Earned a passing score on the Praxis 5205.</p> </li><li> <p>Appropriate licensure is required through the Ohio State Board of Education: preK-3, PreK-5, middle childhood (4-9) education, PreK-5 Intervention Specialists, or K-12 Intervention Specialists (Early Childhood, Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, or Gifted.</p> </li><li> <p>Holds a license issued by the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology under Chapter 4753 of the Ohio Revised Code and a professional pupil services license as a school speech-pathologist issued by the State Board of Education.</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled at data analysis for creation of targeted, small group instructional strategies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Southwest Local School District participates in the Southwest Ohio Organization for School Health (SWOOSH).
