<p>Job Details</p> <p>Kettering Health Main Campus | Kettering | Full-Time | First Shift</p> <p>Responsibilities & Requirements</p> <p>Clinically trained minister responsible for providing spiritual care to our primary customers, partners, and team members. Participates as a member of the healthcare team in evaluating spiritual needs of patients and providing appropriate interventions to meet such needs. Fosters a sense of mission that enhances a culture of trust, experience of belonging, and a sense of mission within the hospital and the healthcare team. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.</p> <p>Minimum Education</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in the theological or pastoral field or equivalent </li><li>Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education </li></ul> <p>Required Licenses</p> <ul> <li>Other </li><li>Ordination/licensure as minister in good standing with the SDA Church </li></ul> <p>Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Personal commitment to God. </li><li>Personal integrity, emotional stability, sound physical health, and an ability to work under stress. </li><li>Effectively relates to persons of diverse religious, educational, and cultural backgrounds. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to earn respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals </li></ul> <p>The Staff Chaplain is responsible to develop and create operational alignment in these areas:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates KH core values of belonging, wholeness, excellence, learning and leadership. </li><li>Assesses emotional and spiritual needs of staff and patients and provides appropriate interventions. </li><li>Receive referrals, and follow up within 24 hours. </li><li>Develops a pastoral care plan by identifying objectives, interventions and outcomes </li><li>Manages on-call duty (nights, weekends, holidays) </li><li>Recruits and Manages volunteers </li><li>Conducts patient visitation to meet the KH goals </li><li>Participates in patient care rounds </li><li>Communicates appropriate information to the interdisciplinary team. Be intentionally part of the interdisciplinary team. </li><li>Educates staff on the role and function of the chaplain </li><li>Provides support to staff, demonstrating compassion and effective leadership </li><li>Coordinates worship and religious services for special dates. </li><li>Lead worship services and devotionals for staff. </li><li>Provides grief and loss support to patients and staff. </li><li>Be involved in the local Ministerial Association and/or a Service Club. </li><li>Provide one on one Pastoral Counseling to staff </li><li>Lead and/or coordinates support groups </li><li>Lead and support families with End of Life issues, funeral and bereavement services. </li><li>Manages the Care Ambassador program recruiting and in-service </li><li>Be part of the back-up on-call schedule to support our KH chaplains. </li><li>Assists in the education of CPE residents and interns as indicated </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Congregational pastoral experience preferred. </li><li>Experience as a hospital chaplain preferred. </li><li>Board certification preferred </li></ul> <p>Overview</p> <p>Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 13 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
