<p>Salary:</p> <p>$22.46 - $22.46</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Culture & Recreation, Recreation</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Aquatics</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Seasonal Position</p> <p>Must be 18 years old by hire date.</p> <p>This role will be responsible for program development for competitive recreation participants, the training of athletes and the teaching of recreational classes, as required to include lesson plans, staff training, program scheduling, and management of all team issues.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Coaches competitive summer program with measurable goals and objectives. </li><li>Develops an overall summer training program to prepare athletes to compete and establishes a competitive training schedule for team members. Manages team athletes, staff, and parent relationships. </li><li>Trains all other coaches in the program(s). </li><li>Ensures that all safety protocols are followed and maintains all equipment to standards, responsible for weekly and monthly reports, purchases, and repairs. </li><li>Works with other Recreation Department staff and associated booster clubs. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School degree and 1 year of related experience. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>CPR certification. </li><li>First Aid certification. </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Rec Trac software knowledge. </li></ul> <p>Other Necessary Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
