That's Perdue.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>To operate the Smithway chick delivery vehicle according to DOT and Perdue regulations. To load vehicle with proper number of chicks, transport to destination and unload chicks. To keep vehicles clean and report any mechanical problems to the garage.</p> <p>Schedule</p> <p>The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.</p> <p>Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. until completion.</p> <p>Days of Work: Generally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as scheduled by management. Saturday, Sunday, holidays if needed by operations and approved by management.</p> <p>Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>To ensure the vehicle is properly prepared for the transport of chicks to their destination on a daily basis by completing a vehicle inspection, Moffett forklift inspection, generator operation, ventilation equipment settings, etc. </li><li>To be responsible for the loading, unloading, and condition of the chicks throughout delivery along with proper placement on designated farms by house. </li><li>Check all paperwork to ensure the load size is correct. </li><li>Contact growers prior to leaving the hatchery in reference to the deliveries arrival time. </li><li>Upon returning to the hatchery unload all pallets and empty boxes after each trip and at the end of the day. </li><li>Clean and disinfect the trailer, generator room, and inside of the cab twice weekly. </li><li>All other duties assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Reading, writing, and analytical skills are required </li><li>Current CDL class A with 2+ years CDL driving experience </li><li>Credentials or licensing required for Moffett forklift (Provided by Perdue) </li></ul> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements</p> <p>In a stationary or moving position on a wet or moist, or dry or dusty, or dirty, or greasy floor with metal or plastic grating surface. Longest time in a single interval is 4 hours. Must have the ability to climb stairs, upon equipment, tractor and trailer, catwalks and work from various ladders. Exposure to work in varying seasonal temperatures, with Ambient and dry humidity. Noise exposure level of >110 dB. Light intensity range of <50 ft to 100 ft. candles. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped and body positions depends upon the task being performed and/ or the hand tools being used. Must be able to lift and control weights up to 10 pounds. Must be able to bend down and maintain a kneeling position. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Exposure to <50ppm of chlorinated water, >5 PPM of ammonia vapors, caustic detergents, lubricating oils and other chemicals found in a live poultry processing operation. Personal protective equipment /devices as required by Perdue.</p> <p>Compensation Data</p> <p>This position has a base rate of $27.22 per hour, as well as .0276 per chick box.</p> <p>In addition to hourly wages, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vison, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.</p> <p>Perdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
