<p>Job Title: Lab Technician</p> <p>The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring food safety and quality standards are met. This role involves performing required testing on raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with quality requirements related to certifications, and adhering to customer, state, and federal standards.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, including pH, moisture, salt, and fat content. </li><li>Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and GLPs. </li><li>Conduct data entry and record-keeping duties as required per lab SOPs. </li><li>Assist with product sampling, inspection, testing, and other duties to support the hold and release program. </li><li>Provide feedback to managers and the production team regarding quality-related discrepancies, violations, or issues that require resolution. </li><li>Assist during facility visits and audits by retrieving documentation. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including biology, chemistry, pH testing, and titration. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Science (biology, chemistry, food science, or related field) or previous experience in Food Manufacturing. </li><li>Basic lab skills in pH, moisture, salt, and fat content analysis. </li><li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Knowledge of quality control and food science. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Open to entry level candidates with bachelors degrees in the sciences. </li><li>Experience in food manufacturing is a plus. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. </li><li>Effective communication skills for reporting findings. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is based in a food manufacturing plant, primarily within a lab environment. The technician will visit the production floor several times per shift to collect samples, but the majority of the day will be spent in the quality lab. The role requires working 2nd shift hours, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime based on production needs.
