<p>Instruct and implement the Veterinary Assistant program to educate students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives.</p> <p>Employment Type: Substitute (Flexible, As-Needed Schedule)</p> <p>Compensation: $23.73-$29.66/hour + CO Paid Sick Leave + Public Health Emergency Leave</p> <p>Reports To: Veterinary Technician Program Director</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>Join our team as a Substitute Veterinary Assistant Instructor and help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals! This role offers a flexible schedule-ideal for experienced veterinary technicians or educators seeking part-time work. You'll deliver engaging lessons, mentor students, and ensure they meet program standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach the Veterinary Assistant program using curriculum-aligned lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and provide feedback on student work within 72 hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with admissions, career services, and externship partners to support student success.</p> </li><li> <p>Address academic/behavioral concerns promptly and escalate to the Veterinary Technician Program Director as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain office hours, attend faculty meetings, and participate in professional development.</p> </li><li> <p>Enforce safety protocols for students, staff, and visitors.</p> </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Expertise in veterinary assisting/technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to create dynamic, inclusive learning environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and educational technology.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program (or equivalent 4+ years' experience).</p> </li><li> <p>3+ years' practical experience as a veterinary assistant, technician, or veterinarian.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills (verbal/written).</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of teaching experience in veterinary sciences. </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Current DVM, CVT, or RVT license/certification (or state-equivalent). </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Flexible schedule with work-life balance.</p> </li><li> <p>Impact students' careers in a hands-on, supportive environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Competitive pay and Colorado benefits.</p> </li></ul>
