<p>At ArtiFlex Manufacturing, we're looking for a Polisher to join our skilled and close-knit team of toolmakers, machinists, and supervisors. This role is critical to the quality and performance of our die casting and plastic injection molds. You'll be responsible for finishing, polishing, and repairing molds to meet exact surface finish, dimensional, and cosmetic requirements.</p> <p>If you have some experience in a mold shop and want to continue building your skills, we're ready to help you grow and become proficient.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Polish and finish die casting and plastic injection molds using hand tools and power equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Remove machining marks, weld marks, EDM texture, scratches, and surface defects</p> </li><li> <p>Achieve specified surface finishes (SPI, VDI, mirror, matte, and customer-specific requirements)</p> </li><li> <p>Perform bench work including stoning, lapping, sanding, buffing, and spotting</p> </li><li> <p>Work with hardened steels, aluminum, copper alloys, and other mold materials</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret blueprints, CAD prints, and work instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain mold integrity by preventing dimensional changes during polishing</p> </li><li> <p>Inspect finished work using visual inspection and measuring tools</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with toolmakers, CNC machinists, and supervisors to meet build schedules</p> </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <ul> <li> <p>Basic understanding of mechanical components and shop tools</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines</p> </li><li> <p>Team-first mindset-we rely on each other in a small shop environment</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity using stones, diamond files, sandpaper, polishing compounds, die grinders, bench grinders, rotary tools, lapping tools, buffing wheels, and measuring tools</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>2+ years of experience polishing molds for die casting or plastic injection molding</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with SPI, VDI, and customer-specific surface finish standards</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of EDM texture removal and re-polishing</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with mold spotting and bench fitting</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of polishing techniques and mold finishes</p> </li><li> <p>Basic knowledge of mold steels and heat-treated components</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and surface finish specifications</p> </li></ul> <p>Shift Hours</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monday-Friday, 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional overtime on Saturdays as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manufacturing / toolroom setting</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to metal dust, polishing compounds, and shop noise</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Manual dexterity for detailed handwork</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs</p> </li><li> <p>Good vision (with or without correction) for detailed surface inspection</p> </li></ul> <p>Why ArtiFlex?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Employee Ownership (ESOP)</p> </li><li> <p>Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Match</p> </li><li> <p>PTO, Annual Bonus, Tool & Safety Gear Reimbursement</p> </li><li> <p>Career Growth, Training, and More</p> </li></ul> <p>Take the next step in your career with a company that invests in you-because we succeed when you do.</p> <p>Apply now to join ArtiFlex and become an owner in your future.</p> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>ArtiFlex Manufacturing designs and builds products and solutions for companies with tough challenges by employing people with a willingness and ability to be "Innovative.
