Teachers offers a variety of exciting career opportunities ranging from part-time and full-time staffers to executive leadership roles.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Responsible for contacting "bad debt" customers to collect payments and settle accounts. Works with third party debt collectors to aid in settling member debts.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree required or four years of directly related experience </li><li>Minimum four years of consumer financial services experience required </li><li>Minimum of two years collection/recovery/bankruptcy experience required </li><li>Basic understanding of regulations and policies regarding debt collection and collection law required </li><li>Basic understanding of Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) experience required </li><li>Akcelerant preferred </li><li>DNA preferred </li><li>Microsoft Applications, including Excel and Word required </li><li>Basic understanding Outbound Collection Calling | Loan Collections | Banking Software | Credit and Collections Software preferred </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for outreach to members and debt collectors to settle debts and collect payments </li><li>Engages in skip-tracing activities and research to locate members </li><li>Initiates account settlements pre-approved by campaigns </li><li>Recommends loan settlements within established guidelines </li><li>Prepares and submits loan documentation for collection </li><li>Analyzes data to achieve delinquency and charge-off goals </li><li>Adheres to all company procedures, state and federal regulations </li><li>Stays current on all collection industry with a strong focus on collection regulation changes, bankruptcy regulations at Federal and State levels, changes in recovery legislation, etc. </li><li>Adheres to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. </li><li>Perform other duties as needed upon request from immediate supervisor </li></ul> <p>Benefits of Joining the Teachers Team:</p> <p>We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:</p> <ul> <li></li><li></li></ul> <p>This position is eligible for our annual discretionary bonus program. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs.
