<p>Job Title: Hiring for Phlebotomist II</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position involves drawing and processing specimens, mainly working with adults and geriatrics in a clinic that offers a variety of services.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment. </li><li>Update patient information and ensure specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures. </li><li>Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal samples, as required. </li><li>Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles. </li><li>Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy in labeling and packaging specimens for transport. </li><li>Store specimen samples at required temperatures and follow procedures to maintain specimen integrity. </li><li>Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. </li><li>Attend annual department training sessions. </li><li>Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to fulfill requests. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. </li><li>Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>2-4 years of experience in phlebotomy. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to multitask and demonstrate critical thinking skills. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Experience drawing blood and processing specimens. </li><li>Familiarity with laboratory procedures. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The schedule is from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Algonquin, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
