Hourly rate of $27.22. University System of Maryland benefits package includes annual leave, holidays, personal, and sick leave; tuition remission; excellent health and life insurance, and retirement plans.</p> <p>Responsibilities: The IT Telecommunications Associate provides support for a range of technologies deployed across the university focusing on field technologies such as audio/visual equipment, point of sale systems, electronic door locks, security cameras, and related systems. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, maintaining inventory for these technologies, and providing operational instructions. This position also delivers event support or coordination related to these technologies and collaborates with other Technology Services staff for supplemental coverage.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of directly related experience. Ability to lift, transport, and install equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. and comfortable working on a ladder.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field, experience with Extron, Transact (or other ID systems), AMAG, Ocularis, Crestron, Linux, server management, DHCP reservations, and block programming</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:</p> <p>Working knowledge of the fundamental principles of telecommunication systems. Ability to work in, on, around, under, and over fixed equipment and machinery; to lift and transport telecommunications supplies and equipment; to work in confined spaces; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to work effectively with others; to operate computers, communication systems equipment and other mechanical lifting and moving equipment; to use hand tools and test equipment; to wear and work in personal protective equipment; to distinquish colors and color combinations.</p> <p>OTHER:</p> <p>Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.</p> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job. A non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license valid in the State of Maryland may be required. May be required to be on-call and carry a pager.
